The News You've Been Waiting For!

Yes, cycling fans and those of you who just love competition, here's the news you have been waiting for; the results of the 3rd Semi Annual Blogazoidal Contest! This time around it was crazy fun with all the contestants and the interesting (humorous) answers. I do enjoy these contests because it gives you a snapshot of the peloton's mindset. For example; Question 3. Other than the Rides Calendar, do you know which Page (not Post) is the most viewed? I mean, by far it has more hits than any other Page, more than doubling the next popular Page, About Our Group. Now, even though it has the most hits, (which is a very interesting fact that we should take to heart), not a single contestant answered that question correctly! In fact, it was the only question without a correct answer.

Which Page has the most views? Speed (Pace) Chart.

Other than the Rides Calendar, (Time and Place), the speed of a ride is evidently the most important bit of information to those checking us out. This is a very critical piece of information to the leaders of any cycling club as well. It means that the pace of any given ride is very crucial to the success and growth of the group. If you advertise a moderate pace (17 to 20mph) then you better keep the pace close to those numbers because it is a very important element to those wanting to ride with you. Just FYI.

Now, before we post the results of the Contest, let's check out our ride scheduled for tomorrow morning. The weather forecast looks fantastic with temps at start time in the mid 50s finishing up in the mid 60s with sunshine aplenty! Looks to be a slight breeze out of the northwest at 4 to 5 mph so we are cleared for take-off for the Fort Pickens Loop! This will be the first time Crusher and The Vortex have ridden back out on the "Highway to the Danger Zone" since last October when they both became much more acquainted with the pave' than either ever wanted too. The Brick Wall Sprint will surely be contested but I doubt you will see either of the big boys entering the fray. (Although, you never know...that Vortex can be quite savvy...and stealthy too!) Word on the street is we will have the pleasure of Coolio's company as well! Alright, plenty of fodder for the next blogulation.

So here's the particulars:

Tomorrow morning at 8am at Fish and Wildlife for the Fort Pickens Loop. There will be a group meeting at the south end of 3 Mile Bridge in Gulf Breeze as well. If you are meeting us in GB, please be ready to roll at 8:20am as we will slow down but not be stopping. The pace will be moderate for this 45 to 50 miler (39 to 44 miles from GB) and we will have one rest stop. Please bring an extra $3 to get in the gate to the National Park. You may not need it as several of the riders have annual passes that allow 4 riders each. However, sometimes we don't have enough passes to cover everyone.

Congratulations to all our winners! And thanks to all of you that entered the contest. We had the most entries ever for this contest. Even the lovely Mrs. Graves entered for the first time. See you tomorrow morning and as always, I'll...

See you out on the road,
Bob

  1. Ah yes, another 2nd place in the somewhat-annual blogazoidal contest. Let's see, if the Bloginator would have accepted the 12pak of Yuengling I offered for 1st place...that would have cost me appx $11 after tax and I would have had a net (prize less bribe) of $9. This way I'm up $10 and I get to drink the beer!! Now what to buy, What to buy? Perhaps some new gaudy handle bar tape that would be the envy of even the CCC!!
