Well, Maybe A Ride This Evening

Rain, rain, rain...

However, looks like we may be able to squeeze a ride in this evening between the raindrops. Hope so, it will be good to see everyone. The ride starts at 5pm at WSRE Parking Lot. Be there or miss out! If you happen to miss out, we'll be doing it all over again this Saturday at 7am at Fish and Wildlife. Looks like the Innerarity Loop unless the group decides otherwise.

Ans speaking of Saturday rides, last Saturday was a good one not to miss. Big group started out under partly sunny skies. We cruised along in the upper teens until the UWF hills. (Then some went faster while others slowed a bit.) We regrouped at the water tower before heading into Scenic Hills and you guessed it, more hills! We had our first and only rest stop at the station at the corner of Guidy and 10 Mile Road.

Once topped off we headed westward on 10 Mile until a right hander onto Old Palafox. These few miles would turn out to be the only unhilly miles the entire day. (Is unhilly a word? Is now.) The turn east brought the hammer down with several of the big guns going to the front the stretch their pistons a bit. This caused a definite split in the group that never again coagulated. In fact, for the group in arrears, the bleeding never stopped. Nonetheless, the enjoyed some much needed camaraderie.  (That's French for a bunch of comrades derie-ing. Or something like that.) Regardless, it was fun.

The dozen or so animals in the front enjoyed a brisk pace back to the Maygarden and Summit launch pad with sprints for all. Everyone had a good time on a good loop. Same with Monday! Although the group was much smaller. Fun loop with Happy and Chung taking the sprint honors.

Seen Out On The Road:

Ty "Turbo" Turbyfil at Tu-Do (Toodles) with his brother and girlfriend. (Uh...the brother's girlfriend, not Ty's. Thought we better clarify that. Looked to be having a noodle bowl of some sort. Carbo loading?

And speaking of carbo loading; Coolio was spotted at...well, you can probably guess where. Hint: he wasn't on his machine and the initials of the establishment are: KK.

Trish "The Kat" Kuhnell was seen stomping down Bayou Blvd on her bike passing cars. Beastly!

Count Fishbone out on Scenic with the hammer down on his Formiglia carbon...sporting shaved pins!

Lizalicious with her peeps running on Summit blowing kisses to her adoring fans. (That Liz, what a character!)

And I'll...

See you out on the road,
Bob
