Ride Schedule CHANGE

We are changing the start time for the ride tomorrow morning from 9am to 10am. The reason for the change is the chilly weather coupled with no minor amount of cajoling, coercing and coverting...I was like, "What the rojocci is this?" (pronounced: roe jockee) But, we are a group that tries to meet the needs of the majority, even if it makes a certain rider the laughingstock of a certain cycling club in a certain town in NW Ohio...at least if they ever read that we changed a ride because the temperature was too cold at 45 degrees!

Anyway, here are the details: Saturday at 10am at Firestone and Summit.

We will still be doing the Pine Forest Loop and we will still be making a Starbucks stop!

Come on out for a great winter ride of about 40 miles at an easy to moderate pace. (See Pace Chart) Looks like a weather forecast of temps in the low 50s with plenty of bright sunshine and a hint of a breeze out of the north...nice!

See you out on the road,
Bob

  1. That was a great ride Saturday with the Firestone and Summitt Group over the Pine Forrest Loop. Ride was marred only by The Bobinator, and Mayo and young Jedi Matt taking a short cut to get the jump on Left Lane, Johnny Bugno and English Keith who returned to the peloton for the first time in months. I kind of expect this from Bob and David "Last Years Bad Mayonaise" Mayo but too lead young Matt astray... Anywway after getting a jump from the shortcut Keith and Johnny were able to reel in Mayo and Bob but not young Matt who took the prize on the Maygarden spring.
Anyway when we were finishing up Johnny and idea batted the idea around of doing another 50 miler Sunday morning with the Wheelmen. After all the E-mails last week about trying to get several of the bike groups together, it seemed like a good idea to go out and try a ride with them. See more next comment

  2. I also tried to get Subway Mark to go but he had foot longs to build for a party and I put in a call to Fox but no reply... He must me up at HP corporate working on a sponsorship for me so that I can get the free HP Jersey I have been hounding him for for the past year. Anyway, Bugno and I did make the ride at 8:00 AM from Bagleheads. Johnny also picked up Lawman Dave Carroll, who rides with both F&S and the Wheelmen, on the way to the start. AFter the membership drive they had last week, they had a great turnout for the Innerarity Loop. The count was 28 total riders. Pace was to be winter pace whith Brett saying it would probably come in at around 16 mph average for the ride. Weather was near perfect and the pace was very moderate heading out even going over the Barrancas Bridge and almost the whole group stayed together all the way out to Innerarity with a small group making a light that the rest did not so there was a small gap but we all got back together before we headed back on the way out of Innerarity. At this time the pace kicked up but it was manageable even for this Cydesdale at around 20-23 to a break at the exit of Innerarity. Everyone refueled and then we headed back staying on Gulf Beach Highway and then Barnacas all the way back to bagleheads. The pace back was pretty much a hammerfest with the average running from 22-25 but in a big group and not having to do any pulls I was able to keep up and Johnny held on almost all the way back as well. It was a great ride and we ended up averaging around 18mph for the whole ride. Just though I would give you F&Ser a report.

  3. Thanks for the report Left Lane. Sounds like a great ride...so much for the winter pace. However, maybe that is the winter pace?! Regardless, I'm glad you and Gianni had a great time.

In regards to the "Cheeky Move" by the Bad Mayonaisse, El Matto and myself; the plan was to see if the short cut would give us a gap...which it did. Then, maintain just enough of a pace as to make you guys work a bit harder. Finally, if you closed the gap, then I was going to send El Matto up the road for the victory! It worked to perfection. And it was a lot of fun, considering how many red lights a certain someone has run to obtain a similar advantage.

Don't blame me, I'm just the strategist. El Matto actually won!!! Good fun!!!
