And the Winners Are...

Thanks to all who responded to the first ever Firestone and Summit Blogazoidal Contest. It was fun seeing the answers and I think a great way to kick off a New Year of cycling. For those of you who didn't respond, please give it a go next time. There's no tricks or gimmicks; nobody is trying to get your email address so they can send you a boatload of junk mail...nope just good clean fun, kinda like our riding...kinda. Besides, we already have your address!

Before I reveal the winners, here are the answers to the 3 questions posed in our contest. I think you will find these fascinating.

1. Question: What was the total number of times our Blog was viewed in the year 2010?
Answer: A total of 6,146 views!
This is amazing considering we only started this thing in June.

2. Question: What are the top 3 most viewed postings on our Blog?
Answer: 1. "A Weekend for SSORES" 7.30.10
2. "Rides This Weekend...and A Shocking Revelation" 7.9.10
3. "Two Not So Subtle Reminders" 10.4.10
I find the popularity of these three very curious. The number one most viewed posting was just about riding in the heat. The number of views more than doubled the views of the second most viewed. The second one was a fabrication regarding The Professor's allegations about Coolio's bike motor. The third of course is all about the two crashes within our group, i.e. David "Lawman" Carroll and Harland "Happy" Williams.

3. Question: From the list below, name the top 3 countries, other than the United States, with the most viewers of our Blog.
Answer: Here are the countries in order, other than the U.S.A., with the most viewers:
1. Canada
2. Japan
3. China
4. Georgia
5. Germany
6. Italy
7. Russia
8. Denmark
9. Poland
10. Krispy Kreme Nation

Now for the winners...drum roll please! While the drum is rolling, I want you to know that the scores were calculated two different ways to assure fairness and accuracy and the were tabulated twice to assure correctness! The scores were exactly the same each time...whew!

1st Place and the winner of the $20 Gift Certificate*...................Jared "Less is" Moore
2nd Place and the winner of the $10 Gift Certificate*..................Richard "Left Lane" Lopiccolo
3rd Place and the winner of the $5 Gift Certificate*.....................John "Gianni Bugno" Duke

*Gift Certificates are to Cycle Sports on Palafox in Pensacola.

Congratulations to our winners!!! Uh, don't spend it all in one place...

Now, for some cycling housekeeping:

Tomorrow morning's ride will start at Fish and Wildlife as indicated on the Rides Calendar. However, the temperature at 8am is for 40 degrees, so we will delay the start until 9am when the temp is supposed to be 46 degrees. I'm looking forward to getting in some much needed miles, even if it is a bit chilly. Just means we'll be going a bit slower and probably a bit shorter. Besides it is supposed to be bright sunshine, so hopefully it won't feel like 40s...yeah right!

See you out on the road,
Bob
