Maybe The Perfect Ride...

When thinking upon the ride All the Way Around the Bay this past Saturday, I am at a loss for words to express the experience. There was very little peloton antics, other than the strange little white capsules we witnessed Danimal popping at all the rest stops. Actually, he expressed that they are some kind of "endurance" pills...I think he called them Endurance Performance Optimizers (EPO) or something like that. Yeah, heard that one before. Others have gotten is some severe trouble for that, but NO not Danimal. Nope, he gets a pass. (I'm not bitter)

There were some monsters pulls however, by several in the bunch including Danimal, (no guess as to how), Circle K, The Count, Happy and Lawman just to name a few. But other than that, there is really nothing to report. Coolio graced us with his smiling face. It was great having him in the peloton. But some of the usual characters that make up so much of the fodder for this Blogification were absent. Folks like Crusher, Left Lane and that Bad Mayonaisse as well as several other stooges. However...

It was just about the perfect ride. Great group and the weather could not have been better. I think we had a slight breeze all day along with a bit of a Tailwind Express for the final section. We rode just under 80 miles at a average just under 20mph! Not bad for a bunch of old dudes.

By the way, no sprint at the end. We were thinking it though. However, just as things were winding up, as we had caught Lawman, ( we were at 33mph), Circle K had a blow out that hit the Vortex in the chest. Amazing nobody went down. But all backed off the sprint. Wise move from a sage group. Great ride to everyone who rode!

Don't forget tomorrow evening's ride at 6pm and of course the WERAD on Wednesday at 5:30pm. Both start at Firestone and Summit. Until then, I'll...

See you out on the road,
Bob
