Rides This Week

Great rides this past weekend! Although Saturday was a bit soggy, Sunday cleared up and was absolutely beautiful! In fact, several of us went out on the Bad Mayonnaise's new Navy Point Loop entitled; "Navy Bean With A Dab Of Bad Mayo Loop". Sure to get you running...so to speak. Actually, a very nice route of about 24 miles. Everyone seemed to enjoy the great weather and moderate pace. Saturday's pace, for the most part was moderate as well. However, we were soaked to the bone as the rain never seemed to stop. It actually did stop on the way home. Good group with plenty of face spackle!

If you missed the rides this past weekend, don't fret yourself, we're riding again tonight! That's right, tonight is TERAD night and the weather is just about perfect for a romp on the Super Figure 8 Course. It all starts at 5:30pm at the Maygarden and Summit starting blocks. The loop is about 22-23 miles and the pace should be moderate to very fast. However, you never know with the big race this weekend. Perhaps some of the usual hammerheads may opt for a more docile pace to save the legs for this weekend's festivities.

Also, we have the WFW Hammerfest tomorrow at 5pm, (which probably will be less hammer than it will be fest for the same reason stated above...but, you never know.) Regardless, good ride with huge packs over the last several weeks. In fact, I was contacted by the Pensacola Police Department with some complaints from motorists regarding last Wednesday's ride. Let's all remember to abide by the traffic laws as well as being courteous to the drivers around us. We cannot be responsible for their actions, but we will be held accountable for ours! If we don't get our own peloton house in order, Pensacola's Finest will do it for us.

Thanks for your cooperation everyone...this is very important to our perceived image as well as the cycling community as a whole. Let's all be good examples out there! It really doesn't take much, usually just a bit of self control.

See you tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday as well as out on the road,
Bob
