In case you've been under anesthesia or perhaps out of the country, I thought to remind you that we have a huge race event this weekend! The Pensacola Cycling Classic hits town this Saturday and Sunday with the force of a tsunami! It all starts Saturday morning with the road race outside Milton on roads in Blackwater State Park. Then it's out to the beach for the individual time trial on the beach road between Pensacola Beach and Navarre. (As nature would have it, the road is closed to vehicular traffic this year.) Then, after the much needed good night's rest, the racers head downtown for one of the fastest crit courses around!
All told, three stages on fastastic, (fast and fantastic) venues with some of the top racers from the southeast and around the country! Come on somebody! Come on everybody! This is an event you will not want to miss! Attend one, two or all three races and cheer on your local favorite or perhaps the underdog that everyone loves...just do it!!! Check out everything pertaining to the race at: www.pensacolacyclingclassic.com
Now, if for some reason you are not racing or cannot get to the road race in Blackwater Saturday morning, then we will have a ride scheduled for you. In fact, several have asked if we could still do a ride Saturday morning. I know, I know, for you hard core racer dudes, it's probably unbestinkinglievable that someone who rides a bike would not want to race the same machine against others in as difficult a setting as possible. But as remarkable as that may seem...evidently some don't want to put their abilities to that kind of test. However, they would still like to ride Saturday.
So, by popular demand, we have scheduled a ride leaving at 7am from Maygarden and Summit launch pad. It will be a 40 to 45 miler and will maintain a moderate pace. So, if you want some exercise before the weekend festivities, (and the devouring of vast quantities of adult carbs), come on out for a carb burning ride with (some) of the cast of unusual characters!
See you out on the road,
Bob
